Spring in Kachemak

Memorial Weekend trip to Kachemak.  Jarred and Renee rented out the public use cabin on China Poot Lake, since they prefer chaos to quiet they invited this crew to come along.

To get to the cabin we had to take a water taxi across the bay.

Pete, soaking up the Homer life.

Joe and Kirsten chilling on the 'Beowulf' as we taxi'd over.

The sun was shining and the trail was ready as we set out on the 2-3 mile hike to the cabin.

The cozy cabin at the end of the trail.

After a day of hiking, fishing, eating Mountain House meals and photographing we were ready to chill around a toasty campfire.

Sunset on China Poot Lake, right in front of the cabin.

Too soon it was time to hike out, once back on the dock we chilled out in the sunshine waiting for the water taxi to arrive and take us back to the Homer Spit.

Some of us enjoyed the ride more than others.....Jarred fell asleep, Kirsten kept her eyes on the horizon!
