Though it was raining steadily (in February might I add), our little one remained as snug as a winter den'ed bear. This apparatus allows us to remain mobile in inclement weather and traverse a wide variety of terrain with cargo room for baby necessities. We are really exited to have it. Of course no outing in Anchorage is complete without obtaining a cup of Kaladi Coffee!
In mid January some of the in-laws came up for a visit. I took the opportunity of Monika having additional help with baby and the presence of my brother-in-law Josh, a willing and eager trekker, to arrange a traverse between Rabbit Lake Trail-head and McHugh trail, a 10.8 mile traverse with elevation gain of 1,200 ft. We started from the Rabbit Lake TH, the route with less elevation gain. Friends, Jake and Joe also accompanied us, both of whom are also now new fathers. We had lots of good convo's on management strategy, trucks, guns, etc, and arrived at the McHugh TH 6.5 hours from our starting time. The ladies had prepared a hot soup dinner back in Anchor town; thank you ladies!
Finally, Josh and I had one more chance to sneak away the day he and the girls flew out. We headed to Glen Alps Trail-head to summit the face of Flattop Mountain.
