On the last day of our mini vacation we ventured from home on foot to attend the local 4th of July celebration in downtown Anchorage.
All the important things, Uncle Sam, a Cross, Uncle Sam..errr...again, and the mountains. Not necessarily listed in order of importance or complete seriousness! It was very crowded and we didn't stay long. Just long enough to share a gyro and listen to the reading of the Declaration of Independence.
Did you know that owls can't move their eyes! They are so big that they have to turn their whole head to change their field of vision! I think that's cool.
We took shelter during a brief downpour in a local coffee shop where we had deep intellectual conversation and stared at people walking by.
This momma wasn't very happy!
Under the bubbles is another cute little duck! He was such a cutie! I want one!
On our way home again.
Pete, writing one of the postcards that we picked up in Denali for our family.
Our holiday dinner!
Mmmmmm......very tasty!
